Travel Information
Conference venue
Conference events will take place on the campus of Carnegie Mellon University (www.cmu.edu). Participants will receive a campus map in their welcome kit, and signs will be in place to help show the way between events.
Lodging
Conference participants will be staying at the Wyndham Hotel (http://www.pittsburghpawyndham.com/) Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Hotel costs will be pre-paid by the iSLC; you will be responsible for any additional charges you make to your room.
Transportation to/from conference events
Non-local participants will be shuttled from the Wyndham to CMU’s campus at the beginning of each day, and back to the hotel at the end of the day. Transportation will also be provided to and from the social event. Participants should refer to the schedule for pick-up times for each day.
Reimbursement
All non-local participants will receive a reimbursement form at the conference. They will be asked to fill it out and send it back to us after the conference with receipts within one week. Participants should save receipts for their flight tickets, and for their ground transportation costs (when it comes to conference time). These, plus the per diem for relevant meal times on Thursday and Sunday, will be the only costs that will need reimbursement, as hotel costs will be pre-paid and all meals during the conference will be provided. No reimbursement will be given for meals during the conference.
Please keep in mind that participants must keep to the guidelines set by their individual center for maximum flight ticket and ground transportation costs (if applicable).
Internet
All participants will receive a guest login id for use of Carnegie Mellon University internet facilities, including computer labs and access to the wireless network. Instructions for how to use this login and a list of locations of nearby computer labs will be provided in the welcome kit.
