Internal Information
Eye Tracker
- THE SYSTEM:
- Eyelink II (ELII) eye tracker system in the Vision Lab comprises two PCs: 1. Data or Experimenter PC and 2. Subject PC. The head-mounted cameras connect to the Data PC which collects the information. The experiments are run on the Subject PC which is connected to the Data PC through an Ethernet card. Our Subject PC has a 21 inch Trinitron monitor with the four IR markers on its corners.
- THE MANUALS:
- You will find manuals for EyelinkII system here
- On the Subject PC go to:
- C:\Manuals
- There are four .pdf files there:
- 1. ELII Installation Guide V1.11.pdf
- 2. EyeLink_II_User_Manual_1.05.pdf
- 3. Windows_Programmers_Guide_2.1_r4.pdf
- 4. EDFVIEW Users Manual 1.0.pdf
You don't need the first file normally, since the system is already installed and ready to use. But in case someday someone wants to install it from anew, there is a paper copy of it in the manual section of the Vision Lab.
The second file is the place to begin if you don't have any familiarity with the physical layout of the system. It tells you about the parts of the system, how they are connected to each other, how to use and calibrate the system, and in short, everything you want to know except programming the experiment.
The third file tells you how to use EyelinkII C library to write your own experiments. The system comes with several sample experiments which you can read and modify for your own purpose. I have put a paper copy of this helpful manual (in velo binding) in the Lab as well. Please do not remove from the lab!
The fourth file explains a software written by ELII to visualize the data. It is straightforward and easy software to use but you might not need it since you usually want more analytical power than that.
